This Rooftops of St. Ives screenprint print is from a limited edition of 50. Each one is named, signed and numbered by me. It is of St. Ives in Cornwall looking out from the hill over the harbour.
This is my most ambitious print to date, with seven colours, it has been hard to print and only about two thirds of them are sucessful. It employs many natural media marks and textures.
It features the rooftops of St. Ives, a heron in the forefground nesting on a roof, a man up a ladder repairing a roof and a tourist taking a photograph.
The size of the paper is at least 51cm x 45cm approximately. The artwork size is 44cm x 40cm approximately.
It's printed in seven colours on Fabriano 5 300gsm printing paper.
It will be sent out rolled. Please note this print is unframed and also please note that as it is hand printed, each print will vary slightly.
I have long been inspired by the beaches and harbours of Cornwall, the houses, boats, rocks, stones and various textures which can be found in these locations and the feeling of safety they give.
